Iowa’s women’s basketball team has revealed that Indiana Fever’s friendly with the Brazilian national team is a 15,000 sellout, with Caitlin Clark making her return to her former college.

Clark shot to stardom at college level whilst representing her home state, and has since gone on to bigger and better scenes following her first season in the WNBA. Having joined Indiana Fever for her maiden professional campaign, Clark helped guide them to their first postseason appearance since 2016.

Her individual talents were recognized too, after the 23-year-old was named the WNBA Rookie of The Year after impressing throughout 2024.

She is now gearing up for season No. 2 at the top level and in preparation will join her Fever teammates in taking on Team Brazil in a friendly. It will prove all the more special for the WNBA Rookie of The Year, with the game taking place at her former home in Iowa.

And unsurprisingly a bumper crowd will pack in to watch the action, with Iowa confirming all 15,000 tickets have been sold. Excitement is already building among fans of both Indiana and Iowa, and the college themselves are looking forward to the prospect of having Clark back.

“We couldn’t be more excited to play at Carver-Hawkeye Arena, and we know Iowa fans will deliver an unforgettable homecoming for Caitlin,” Fever president of basketball operations Kelly Krauskopf said. “Countless Hawkeye fans have become Fever fans, and we consider them family.

“That’s what will make this preseason matchup so special for us.” Clark has helped turn the Fever into one of the top teams in the WNBA heading into the new campaign, having finished as the team with the worst record in the league just two years ago.

On the back of last season, they are set to be even stronger in 2025, with the franchise’s recruitment team bringing in a whole host of new faces to play alongside Clark. And according to Seattle Storm guard Lexie Brown, the Fever’s business has been impressive.

“They gave Caitlin some dawgs around her,” Brown said. “They not playing around. They gave her some more shooters. Natasha Howard, I think, was their best signing. I think people forgot what type of player she was while she’s been in Dallas. She’s a great defensive player, she can go out and give you 30 [points], she’s a great screener, which is going to be very beneficial for Caitlin.

“DeWanna Bonner, just having that veteran presence and energy, like she can go make big-time buckets for you,” Brown continued. “Sophie Cunningham, just her energy alone, I’m excited to see her back at her natural position, which is the three… and then of course re-signing Kelsey Mitchell.
